The German Shorthaird Pointer Field Club of Alberta

The GSPFCA is an active, family friendly club that promotes training of pointing dogs for the purpose of Upland Bird hunting, Field Trialing, Field Dog Tests and the pure enjoyment of working as a team with our dogs doing what they were bred to do.

We host CKC and AFT sanctioned events which are open to all breeds of Pointing dogs and their owners. Each year we hold Field events in the Spring and Fall as well as training sessions. We hold club meetings throughout the year as well as our famous Annual Wild Game Dinner.

Our members come from all over Western Canada and include hunters, breeders, field trialers and dog enthusiasts. We encourage new members to join and come out to our various club events.

CKC Field Trials
Pointing Breeds Field Trials

The purpose of field trials for all CKC recognized pointing breeds is to promote and recognize those dogs that demonstrate the highest pointing dog qualities.  They are assessed on a competitive basis in a natural setting using a standard of performance.
